On 15 June, Danish lifestyle brand Søstrene Grene launches its webshop and customer app in Spain, returning to the country after six years and bringing its popular range of home décor, hobby items and kitchen supplies to customers nationwide for the first time.
Soon, customers in Spain will be able to explore Søstrene Grene’s Scandinavian design universe from home and have their orders delivered to their door, as the retailer launches its Spanish webshop on 15 June. Spain will become the 19th country where Søstrene Grene’s popular range of home interiors, hobby products, kitchen supplies and more is available online.
Søstrene Grene has previously operated stores in Spain and is now returning to the market after six years. Spanish customers continue to show strong interest in the brand, with around 150,000 of Søstrene Grene’s five million followers on Instagram and Facebook based in Spain.
“We are very excited to invite the people of Spain into the wonderful world of Søstrene Grene. We once had physical stores in Spain, but it was not the right moment for us at the time. However, over the years, we have continuously received requests from potential customers asking when it would be possible to order online from Spain. Therefore, we can’t wait to re-enter the Spanish market and bring our Scandinavian roots, everyday hygge and creative inspiration into homes across the country,” says Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene.
First dedicated online market
Spain is the third market this year where Søstrene Grene has launched its webshop, following Poland on 30 March and Italy on 29 April. However, the Spanish launch marks a new milestone for the retailer, as it is the first market Søstrene Grene currently plans to enter with a dedicated online presence. At this stage, physical stores in Spain are not part of the expansion plans.
“It will be very interesting for us to follow the demand for our brand in Spain. With Italy and Poland, we chose a digital-first approach by launching our webshop ahead of physical stores. This allows us to build brand awareness and establish relationships with customers online before inviting them into our stores. In Spain, however, we are focusing exclusively on a digital presence, and we are very excited to follow and learn from this approach,” says Mikkel Grene.
Along with the launch of the webshop, Spanish customers will also gain access to Søstrene Grene’s app, which offers convenient online shopping as well as 300+ crafting projects and creative ideas for the home, holidays and parties. The app has been warmly welcomed by users in other European countries and currently has around 1 million downloads.
