In July, citizens and shoppers in Innsbruck can look forward to experiencing a new version of Danish ‘hygge’ when retail chain Søstrene Grene opens a new store in the city in Kaufhaus Tyrol at Maria-Theresien-Straße 31.
For the first time since 2019, Søstrene Grene is set to open a brand-new store in Austria, as the Danish retail chain reveals plans of opening a new store in Innsbruck. This will be the first Austrian Søstrene Grene-store to showcase the retail chain’s sensory store concept ‘Retail for the Senses’ – a concept that has been warmly welcomed by customers in other countries.
Group CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, Mikkel Grene, is looking forward to the opening and says:
“We are very excited to open a new store in the wonderful city of Innsbruck and to open a new Søstrene Grene in Austria after six years. Introducing our new store concept makes it even more special. We are very much looking forward to inviting locals and visitors to explore the wonderful world of Søstrene Grene through a new and sensory shopping concept,” he says.
An experience like no other
Located in Kaufhaus Tyrol in Innsbruck, visitors are invited to explore Søstrene Grene’s well-known range of home interior and small furniture, hobby items, toys, kitchen supplies, stationery, and much more in a new setting.
The new store will allow for a full view of Søstrene Grene’s store concept Retail for the Senses. With this concept, the Danish retail chain has designed a unique shopping experience, which speaks to your senses and invites you in for an exploring journey throughout the store.
“We have worked hard on the store concept with the vision of giving our customers a little break from an often-hectic everyday life and offering them an experience like no other. So, we cannot wait to showcase it to and hopefully inspire our visitors,” says Mikkel Grene.
Retail for the Senses is inspired by the idea of ‘the city’. The well-known Søstrene Grene maze has become more organic; the flow widens to imitate boulevards and narrows to imitate smaller alleys. Some shelves are tall and inspired by skyscrapers and others short as town houses. Furthermore, large squares showcasing the product categories have been incorporated into the store design to allow customers to pause and explore during their visit in the store.
Grand opening celebration
The store opening in Innsbruck will be celebrated with a grand opening event on the opening day. Here, visitors can look forward to a festive opening with the red carpet rolled out and live classical music and giveaways.
With the addition of the Innsbruck location, Søstrene Grene will soon count three stores in Austria, complementing the existing locations in Vösendorf and Vienna along with Søstrene Grene’s online store.
